#009 What should I wear in the summer?
The heat wave has arrived!
It's been hot since the rainy season ended. Looking at the forecast, it seems that the days of 34 to 38 degrees will continue for a long time. There will surely be days when the temperature in urban areas reaches close to 40 degrees. It's a really painful season for those who are engaged in construction sites and logistics outdoors.
In recent years, more and more people are wearing blousons and vests with electric fans, including air-conditioned clothes. A variety of new products are being released this year as well against the ever-increasing heat. We have also been selling vests with electric fans since last year, and cooling vests that can be fitted with ice packs from this year.
What shoes should men wear in summer?
If it is too hot, it will be difficult to wear leather shoes or even sneakers. On holidays and short outings, I often wear beach sandals. It's not stuffy, it doesn't smell, and it's easy to put on and take off.
Therefore, we will consider the feet of midsummer that men should choose. First, consider those in the legal and financial industries who have the least freedom of dress. Basically, those who are forced to wear a suit have a lot of restrictions on their feet, and their choices are limited to lace-up shoes or monk straps.
If you are forced to do this type, there is only one way to relieve the heat.

Mesh men's shoes. It's not very familiar in Japan, is it? It is an image worn by a date man born in the Meiji and Taisho eras. I see it sometimes in Europe and the United States, but I can't say it's common. In midsummer, instead of a suit, it would be better to wear a navy blue jacket and gray pants, and wear slip-ons such as loafers on your feet. I also use this style when dining with customers.
I usually use slip-ons habitually. This is the summer staple I've been wearing for the last 20 years.
I bought the second one last year. The first generation has been worn for 18 years. I wanted to replace the bottom, but the cost was not that much different than buying a new one, so I bought a new one. Originally these shoes are worn by yachtsmen, but they are recommended because they are easy to match with a polo shirt or jacket style.
What I've been aiming for these past few years is "espadrilles".

It was once popular in Japan about 30 years ago. I used to wear them when I was in high school at the time. They are very comfortable in the summer and come in a variety of colors, so you can wear them according to your mood and occasion. I have an espadrille imitation that Adidas sold about 5 years ago, and I'm starting to see more and more of these in the summer.
But I want the real thing because it's just a joke, but it's still this! I have not come across such an espadrille.
When I went to Madrid on a trip last year, I went to a famous store with the intention of buying it, but I had a bitter memory of being scuttled by the long queue and reluctantly returning to the hotel.
The rest is this
VANS authentic. I think ERA and slip-ons are fine. There are many colors, not only canvas, but also leather and suede. A versatile summer player that can be matched with cotton suits and jackets.
Wouldn't you like to refresh your mood by buying new shoes? Why don't you buy your favorite shoes and reset your depressed mood due to the corona disaster?
